Everyone gets angry on occasions. It's a natural, normal human emotion that is activated when something is happening to us, around us, or considered a perceived threat to us or those we hold dear. However, anger is unhealthy when it is uncontrollable, violent, or destructive. In Anger Management class/session, we discuss: - What anger is, the normalcy of anger, and how it relates to survival - Triggers, what they are, and how to identify them - Different types of anger - Signs that you're becoming angry - The difference between aggression and assertiveness - How anger negatively impacts a person mentally, physically, and emotionally - How depression is associated to anger - Techniques on how to control and cope with anger All anger management participants will be given an assessment prior to first session.
